Garlic Chesnok Red

A versatile garlic holds its origins in the Republic of Georgia, and is said to be one of the best for cooking and has in fact won several ¡°Best for Baking¡± contests. Holds its shape and flavor well when cooked. This variety grows best where winters are cold, spring is damp and cool, and summer is dry and warm. Harvest fall-planted garlic the following season in late spring or early summer, about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season, about 90 days from planting. This variety produces a deliciously tender and mild garlic scape, and its cloves offer a robust and medium heat pungency. Averages 5 cloves per bulb. Hardneck variety.
